
PRAYER & WORSHIP
● Prayer Initiatives:
○ Rush Hour Prayer launched in February, bringing together 19 volunteers who prayed with 59 community members.
○ A Prayer Box was added to our Blessing Box to invite more prayer requests.
○ Received over 60 prayer requests through online submission and prayer cards
○ 8 creative prayer stations utilized in worship services
○ 5 Schools prayed over by our students at the beginning of the school year
● Worship Milestones:
○ Average Combined In-Person and Digital Attendance of 125 people
○ 33 new members received thus far and 2 baptisms to be performed.
○ Over 200 unique individuals represented between Easter and Christmas Eve worship services
DISCIPLESHIP
● Short-term Studies: "The Walk" (7 participants), "Reckless Love" (7 participants).
● Graduated a Disciple IV Bible Study class.
● Lenten and Advent Studies jointly with Marvin UMC
● Small Groups: three small groups, one online group, and one bi-weekly community small group remain active and are growing!
● United Methodist Women continues growing, focusing on mission projects.
● United Methodist Men met regularly for fellowship and breakfast.
CHILDREN & STUDENTS
● Averaged 10 children in Children’s Church each Sunday with over 30 total Children on our rolls.
● Averaged 7 students at Lewis Students gatherings on Sunday nights.
● BSA Troop 122 and Pack 122 remain chartered by Lewis.
● Vacation Bible School (VBS) hosted 50 children, supported by 28 adults and 12 youth volunteers.
● Blessing of the Backpacks saw 25 children and 10 students blessed, with 100 ice cream bars enjoyed.
● Hosted a Movie Night/Parents’ Night Out, providing a fun break for families.
● Hired 2 new Children’s Ministry Attendants
● River of Life: 6 students and 3 adult volunteers participated
COMMUNITY, CONGREGATIONAL, & DENOMINATIONAL CONNECTIONS
● Our Website (LewisUMC.org) received a full redesign and now features events and weekly worship services.
● Egg-stravaganza: 228 people registered (104 adults, 124 kids). 61 volunteers helped make it a success and 281 ice cream treats were served.
● Lewiston School Supply Drive: 315 items donated for students, staff, and teachers at Lewiston Elementary
● Young at Heart met 6 times, celebrated its 45th anniversary, and has served 120+ meals and 80+ to-go meals at its gatherings.
● Nominations: Over 30 Gifts Inventories filled out to support the Body of Christ at LMUMC
● 5 delegates, including two students, represented LMUMC at the North Georgia Annual Conference in Athens, GA.
LOCAL & DOMESTIC MISSIONS
● Weekends to Serve: 63 volunteers provided 16.3 man-days of service to local non-profits. A third weekend will occur in December.
● UMCOR Hygiene Kits: Congregation assembled and shipped 264 kits for disaster relief.
● AU Wesley: Three small groups provided and served dinner to Augusta University Wesley Foundation students while joining with them in fellowship.
● Easter Basket Bonanza: Donated and assembled 8 baskets for children in transitional homes through Wellroot.
● Family Promise: Provided meals and snacks for homeless families over two one-week periods.
● Monthly Communion Offering: benefits those in need and supports community partners. Pastoral discretionary funds have been used to help with temporary housing, food, electricity, gas, and water.
● Support Groups: Five support groups meet weekly on the Lewis campus in peer-led, self-empowering meetings for those in addiction recovery.
● Blood Drive: 6 members donated blood during our with Shepeard Blood Center.
● Blessing Box: the Blessing Box was refurbished and the storage closet was enlarged, allowing for the collection of more food to consistently stock our shelves.
● Serving the Local Community: Several members are now actively serving outside formal church events including: Wellstar MCG Health’s No One Dies Alone and PICU/NICU Cuddler programs, Golden Harvest’s Food Factory and Master’s Table kitchen, and Compass For Hope.
● Hurricane Helene Volunteers: Church members serving in water delivery, debris removal, chainsawing, and providing meals for emergency reponse teams.
INTERNATIONAL MISSIONS
● Continued raising funds for the 2025 Ecuador Mission Team through events like the Easter Breakfast, Spaghetti Supper, and Cobbler Sales.
● Raised funds for new shoes for children in Ecuador.
● Supported both the Nichols and Sims with fervent prayers as they serve abroad.
● Rise Against Hunger: Partnered with Marvin UMC to raise funds for 10,000 meals. Packing was delayed by Hurricane Helene, now set for November 17.
FINANCES
● The church remains debt-free.
● We successfully met our goal for the Next Faithful Step Capital Campaign raising a total of $135,227.11, with $65,000 of that as a matching grant from the North Georgia Conference of the UMC.
● Special offerings raised $480 for UMCOR, $615 for Wesley Woods, and $745 for Wellroot’s Back-to-School program.
FACILITIES
● Enhanced our digital presence with a new sound system, projectors, cameras, microphones, and streaming hardware.
● 22 exterior doors painted and
● 143 new LED Light fixtures installed across campus
● Painting of the Education Building’s entire interior
● Tile refinishing and waxing throughout the Education Building and FSH
● Installation of acoustic tiles in the FSH.
● New windows, shutters, doors, locks, and handicap ramp repair took place in the historic Chapel.
