They all have been recipients of items from The Prayer Shawl Ministry here at Lewis Memorial UMC. Eleven women have produced multi-colored prayer shawls, soft port pillows, warm lapghans, comfortable children’s afghans, fuzzy love blankets, prayerfully produced prayer shawls, “Hug from Home” pillows, inspiring needlepoint crosses, and amazing angel blankets. We have given away 859 pocket prayer shawls alone and 705 of the other hand crafted items this past year.

We often hear about the love and comfort these items have brought the recipients, and that, of course, is the whole point of this LMUMC outreach. Though we distribute to many other places, our prayerful focus is on a ministry to our own body of Christ and their families and friends. If you wish to give any of these hand crafts to someone who needs a little spiritual uplift or simple encouragement, please let The Prayer Shawl Ministry Coordinator, Carol Moore, or the church office know of your request.

P.S. We would love to expand our “How To Crochet” Classes and our outreach. If you or anyone you know would be interested, please let us know.
